  Deviled Egg Sailboats

Deviled Eggs Sailboats

These sailboats were quickly gobbled up ~ they only had a chance to sit and look pretty on the plate for the picture! Thanks to Family Fun for this yummy idea. :)

Busy Boats by Tony Mitton

Summary: Your little one will learn all about different kinds of boats and how they work in this fun rhyming book.

When It’s Time to Cook…

You’ll Need:

  • 6-8 hard boiled eggs
  • 2 tsp. mustard
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • red, yellow, and orange peppers…or whatever color your heart desires!
  • a cutting board
  • mixing bowl
  • spoon and fork
  • knife for slicing
To Make:
  1. Peel the hardboiled eggs and cut them in half from top to bottom. Take out the yolks.
  2. Use the fork to squish the yolks. Mix in the mayonnaise and mustard.
  3. Cut the peppers in half and remove the seeds.
  4. Cut the peppers into 1 inch strips, then cut the strips to make 1” squares. Slice the squares in half diagonally to make triangles {sails for the boats.
  5. Fill the egg halves with the yolk mix. Place a pepper sail into the filling so it will stand up.
  6. Enjoy eating them while you are reading the book together!
