Photobucket

I Love You With All My Hearts (Son): The Many Ways a Mother Loves Her SonI Love You With All My Hearts (Daughter): The Many Ways a Mother Loves Her Daughter

by Sally Huss

Summary: Both books express the many ways that a mother loves their child. One book is about how a mother loves their son and the other is about how a mother loves their daughter.

Bible Verse
We love because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19

Art

Make a collage of many hearts using a heart-shaped stamp and paint. To make your own stamp, simply cut a heart from a sponge.

Motor Skills

Practice lacing. Simply cut a heart shape from foam and use a hole puncher to punch holes around the edge. Use a shoe string to lace through the holes.

Math

Cut out hearts in multiple colors and have your little one sort the hearts by color. Another option is to cut out various size hearts and sort by size.

Science

Fill a sensory box/bin with water and let your little one use heart-shaped sponges to experiment with squeezing water from the sponge.

Snack

Use a cookie cutter to make heart-shaped sandwiches for lunch.

Songs

H-E-A-R-T
(to the tune of Bingo)

There is a shape and it means love
And Heart is it's name-o.
H-E-A-R-T, H-E-A-R-T, H-E-A-R-T,
And Heart is it's name-o!
(Leave out a letter each time you repeat and use a clap in place of the letter.)

Additional Activities

Cut out five hearts from construction paper and write the letter H, E, A, R, and T on them. Remove the heart with the appropriate letter as you repeat the song). from Perpetual Preschool

Finally, and most importantly, grab your little one in your arms and tell them all the ways you love them with all your hearts!

My mom's visiting and did a great activity last week with the girls that they are still raving over. She and Sammi drew a huge heart on butcher paper. Then we put the heart on the floor. Each person had a chance to stand on the heart and everyone else said things they love about that person. I had to tape it up to the wall so that we can continue to go on and on about why we love our girls. They adore it!
