What do you get when you add the 36 piece Magneatos set to the 24 piece curved Magneatos?
Hours of fun and entertainment!!
This month we’re featuring a fun and versatile toy from Guidecraft ~ Magneatos! Here are a few fun ways that you can use Magneatos to learn {or just have fun} with your little one.
Shapes ~ Adding in the curved set of magnetos really expands the shapes that you can put together! Four simple curves make a circle, a few curves, balls, and straight Magneatos make a heart…and the list goes on! Once your little one has mastered the basic shapes, you can start making 3 dimensional ones!
Pom-Pom Toss ~ Mama Jenn made small hoops {putting two of the curved Magneatos together} and the kids had fun tossing pom poms through the hoops on the refrigerator.
Bowling ~ Need I say more? This was a huge hit in our house as well!
Hit the Gym ~ They may not be heavy, but you have to admit it…little boys will love being ‘strong’ and it may keep them out of your personal fitness equipment {ahem…assuming that yours is being used and not collecting dust}. Have your little one count how many ‘reps’ they are doing and see how high you can count.
ABC’s and Spell a Name ~ The curves help out in making the letters of the alphabet, so you can practice spelling the name of your little one or other members of your family.
Early Science ~ Have fun exploring the different areas around your house that are {or aren’t} magnetic!
Color Matching ~ Jenn’s kids got creative and realized that they could also put the Magneatos on the refrigerator. They started a little color matching with our refrigerator alphabet letters. The kids matched and attached the red letters with the red Magneatos, green with green and so forth!
Animals ~ Our kids have had so much fun trying to create different animals out of the Magneatos.
Miniature Golf Course ~ Cindy from Along the Way had a mini-golf course set up in her living room ~ how fun is that??
Patterns ~ You can work on simple {or more complex} patterns with your kids! If you make them into circles, you can even have fun rolling your patterns!
More Ideas…
- set up a simple obstacle course with them, have your tot jump over them, jump in a shape you make, etc.
- Make large shapes on the ground and have your tot hop into the shape you call out
- Work on sorting by color, size, and shape
- Work on counting
