This is the House That Jack Built by Jeanette Winter
Summary: A rebus-style telling of the classic story, This is the House That Jack Built. This week is letter Jj week or as I called it, ode to Jack week! I decided that this would be a wonderful opportunity to read many different nursery rhymes all dealing with Jack. The first book we read was The House That Jack Built.
The House That Jack Built:
Of course, we had to “build” our own house too. We built some with blocks and also decorated a paper house.
I wrote my daughter’s name on the line and we practiced spelling her name.

Jack and Jill:I printed off this Jack and Jill page from Making Learning Fun . I slipped it in a page protector so that we can reuse it, but you could use circle magnets or Do-a-Dot markers too.

Jack Be Nimble:
I set up a little jumping path on our driveway. I wrote capital and lower case letter Jj’s on the ground. Then added the candle stick. The girls had to jump on all the letter Jj’s and then jump over the candle stick. They had so much fun doing this!

Letter J Activities:
I wrote words that began with the letter J and the girls had to circle that letter with chalk. You could have your child use a sponge or spray bottle and wash away all the letter J’s instead.
We also did our Letter Jj Alphabet Cut and Paste sheet from Homeschool Creations.
You can find the handwriting download under Letter J activities.
