Do Princesses wear Hiking Boots? Carmela LaVigna Coyle

Summary: This cute book portrays a young lady asking her mom questions about what it means to be a princess. It’s a rhyming book full of whimsical questions and answers, concluding with the question and answer “Do princesses look at all like me?” and the mom responds “Look inside yourself and see…”

Bible Verse: “I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14

Outside Activity: Put on some hiking boots and take a hike!

Numerical Order Puzzle: This is a fun new addition that I included in my K4 Curriculum! Simply cut out the strips along the line, then place in numerical order to complete the puzzle!

Math Activity: Princes Counting! Count the princesses on each card, then place the correct number tiles on each card.

Pre-Writing Activity: Help the Princess get to her castle! Laminate these cards and use with dry-erase markers.

P is for Princess Magnet Page: I use a cookie sheet and small round magnets with this game, but you can also use it with Do-A-Dot Markers for more fun!

Princes Size Sorting: Simply cut out each princess card, then sort by size. Discuss which is smallest, largest and medium!

Princess Lacing Card: Print on cardstock, then laminate and cut out. Use a hole punch to create holes 1” apart along edges. Lace using yarn or shoe-string.

Princess Patterns: Cut out pattern pieces and use to complete the pattern that has been started for you!

Roll A Princess: This is a fun game that helps with number recognition as well as counting. Use with either dotted or numbered die. Roll the die, and place the corresponding puzzle piece in place to complete the puzzle!

Snack Time: Have a formal Tea Party! Make sure attendees dress up in their finest, then serve mini-cucumber and cottage cheese sandwiches along with other fun finger foods! Serve pretend tea, or warm tea, or even hot chocolate if tea isn’t your cup ;o)
