Where is Meddybemps? Do you know? It's an imaginary place, and in 1991 the first stories of the Island of Meddybemps began to emerge...Chateau Meddybemps is a site that was created to provide parents with fun and playful activities to use with their children. The games are simple, but help instill confidence and help children discover the fun in learning. The site features games for children, bedtime stories, parent and teacher's guides, and links to the Meddybumps blog, store and more.
The Fun & Games page has links in both sidebars that help you find age appropriate activities for your child {I'd recommend the preschool favorites}. The preschool games are divided into categories: fine motor, counting and sorting, social/emotional, colors, matching, and observation/discussion.
Some of the games and activities can be completed online, but there are also activities to print off and use at home. Here are a few of my favorites:
- Animal Count ~ count the different animals you are asked to find
- Jolly Penguin's Ice Cream Matching Game ~ a printable color matching game
- Mixed up Vehicles ~ fun making different vehicles
- Crocodile Smiles ~ introduction of colors {and tooth brushing}
