Little Walrus Warning by Carol Young

Summary: Follow the walrus calf and his mom as they make their last trip to the feeding grounds in Alaska before he ventures off as a part of the herd.

 W is for Walrus Craft

What You’ll Need:

  • Light and dark brown and white foam sheet/construction paper
  • Pencil {to outline}
  • Scissors
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue

How to Make the ‘W” for Walrus:

walrus craft

  1. Trace and cut an uppercase ‘W’ out of the white foam sheet or construction paper. I used a smaller piece of a foam sheet that was about 4" x 2.5" in size {this letter wasn’t as large as the past letters we’ve cut out}.
  2. Using the light brown foam, cut out a peanut-shaped piece to use as the lower face for the walrus.
  3. Cut out the rest of the walrus head using the dark brown foam {see the picture above}.
  4. Using the excess dark brown foam, cut out some thin strips to use as whiskers.
  5. Glue the walrus pieces together.
  6. Add yarn or embroidery floss as whiskers for the walrus.
