Pumpkin Faces by Emma Rose
Summary: Turn off your light for a spooky surprise-- jack-o'lanterns glow in every shape and size!
Pp is for Pumpkin
This activity is great for teaching your LO about blending colors!
1. Have your LO paint a 2 small paper plates (or small circles) with red and yellow finger paint (so they can see the orange being made).
2. Set aside to dry. One of the pumpkins will be used for the Pumpkin interactive page.
3. Once dry, write Pp is for Pumpkin or use the Pp template (if using the template have them paint that with the finger paint already on their hands).
4. Glue the paper plate to the Pp page. Hole punch and add to your alphabet book binder.
Pumpkin Faces
- Cut out different shapes or print out the pumpkin face templates you want to use.
- Use the extra paper plate pumpkin for the pumpkin. Have your LO add the face pieces nt
- Glue the pumpkin to a piece of construction paper.
- Keep all the face pieces in a baggie and attach to the back of the pumpkin faces page or add to the pocket in your alphabet book binder. Hole punch and add your your alphabet book binder.
5 Little Pumpkins Finger Play
For felt board pieces click here The findger play mentions a witch that most say in the 3rd line 2nd pumpkin, but you can substitute the wind if you don't want to say witch.
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate (five fingers up)
The first one said "Oh my it's getting Late" (Hands on Cheeks)
The second one said "There's a chill in the air" (arms around self)
The third one said "But we don't care" (swing pointer finger)
The fourth one said "We're ready for some fun!" (hand in air)
The fifth one said "Let's run, run, run!" (running motion)
So woooo went the wind, and out went the lights,
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight!

Thanks for another great week!
I know I am late with the whole ABC theme but never the less our P verse will be "peace be within you" Psalm 122:8. Also I am using a pumpkin theme felt story with my Cubbies next week and thought it was perfect to go along with the pumpkin theme http://www.christiancrafters.com/pumpkin.html. Hope you enjoy!!!
