Bible Bites ~ Bibles for Tots

Recently a reader asked for recommendations of Bibles to use with tots. Of course, my first reaction was to think of the children's Bibles we owned personally, as I went around the house collecting all of our Bibles, this is the stack I came up with and I know a few were missing!!!I couldn't believe how many there were!!! They're all Bibles we have that I use or have used with my older son (he is 6 1/2 right now) and also will use(or am using) with my tot. I put together all of our personal Bibles (and also devotionals) together in one place, with my opinions under each of them. You can see those here if you're interested!

Then I contacted a few ladies via email to get their tot Bible recommendations and together this was what we came up as our top recommendations for various tot-age groups.

For ages Baby-about 2 1/2, (this one is a board book)...
You can get it here at Amazon-The Baby Bible Storybook

What tot doesn't like a great rhyme? This Bible is perfect to read aloud to a tot...
Find it here at Amazon-The Rhyme Bible Storybook for Toddlers, or here at CBD-Rhyme Bible for Toddlers They also make The Ryhme Bible, which is great too, it's recommended for ages 4-8 but could be enjoyed by older tots too.

A very simple and engaging Bible for tots is this one...
You can get it here at Amazon-The First Step Bible

For ages about 2 1/2 and up through the rest of tothood (and beyond)...

Find it here at Amazon- The Beginner's Bible, or here at CBD- The Beginner's Bible.

Another great Bible book for the 2 1/2 and up age group is this one... Here at Amazon-My ABC Bible Verses: Hiding God's Word in Little Hearts, or here at CBD-My ABC Bible Verses: Hiding God's Word in Little Hearts

For the older tots, here's another one...

It's available here at Amazon-Read-N-Grow Picture Bible

Here's a new one coming out at the end of February, it looks great for tots, it's a Bible with a cd of songs too! I might have to order it myself for Krash!
Here it is on Amazon-My Sing-Along Bible, or here at CBD-My Sing-Along Bible

Here's one more last minute addition to the list...

One excellent Bible that didn't make your list is The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd-Jones. It is beautifully illustrated and each story foretells of the birth of our Saviour. My 3 year old loves it, as does our 18 month old. Thanks for your list - I see a few I would like to add to our collection!

I would add the Big Picture Story Bible - it is FANTASTIC!

Fantastic reviews! Thanks, Carissa! We also really enjoy The Jesus Storybook Bible. (Oops! I forgot to tell you about this one!) It applies every story to Jesus Christ.

Too funny, I had this post finalized last night(and on auto-post) and this morning I had emails recommending the Jesus Storybook Bible! I didn't have the energy to add it this morning but I may go back and edit the original post. We don't have that one yet but it's on our list to buy!

Sarah Mae-I will have to look into the Big Picture one! Thanks!

When I first read this post earlier in the day, I was also going to leave a comment to suggest adding the Jesus Storybook Bible. I am glad to see you added it! :) It is an AWESOME Bible. It communicates stories to a child's level, but also shows how each one points to Jesus as our Savior.

We LOVE the rhyme Bible. Got it as a gift for our first one but it hasn't survived Zachary. I need to get another one for Kaleb. I can still say some of the rhymes by heart. :)

Carisa,

Thank you so much for answering my question. The next day after posting my question I found Day-by-Day Kid's Bible by Karyn Henley at a thrift store for $1.99. It's in brand new condition. It will come in handy when she's a little older. For now I think I'm going to get her the Day-by-day Begin-to-Read bible. Hopefully I'll get lucky again at the thrift stores.

How funny! We, too, are HUGE fans of The Jesus Storybook Bible!! We are on our 2nd time through right now, and I'm sure we'll do a 3rd and 4th go round as well!
Our 4 and 6 year olds REALLY love it. Our 3 and 2 year olds love the Beginner's Bible, and the Rhyme Bible, too...
Ah...so fun.
Thanks for the great list!
