Crafty Corner ~ Shamrocks

After reading: The Story of Saint Patrick's Day by Patricia Pingry...

We made Blotto Painted Shamrocks: ( I got the idea here but changed it a bit we did 3 leaf clovers and i only had yellow paint )

Need:

  • paint: Green, yellow and white
  • heavy paper
  • shamrock pattern or free hand one
  • glitter (optional)
To Make:

Fold heavy paper in half, trace a shamrock on the the paper at the fold...

Place a blob (the technical term, right?) of each color in the center of the paper (in the crease). Fold again and have your LO press and rub the paper all over, then-open and set aside to dry. After they dry, cut the shamrocks out and have fun decorating!

We then glued Father, Son, and Holy Spirit on ours on each shamrock leaf and talked about the Holy Trinity. We did leave 2 just shamrocks! We hung them on our kitchen wall!

Great idea! I was searching for an easy and appropriate St. Patty's Day craft, and this will work! We even have the same book, which I think is a great series. Thanks for all you do!
